Introduction to basic and advanced elements of managing the patient under conscious sedation. The presentation will review safety protocols and introduce sedation pharmacological principles. A discussion of patient selection with reference to the sedation armamentarium. The attendee at the end of the presentation should learn safety and caution techniques and ideals when it comes to sedation equipment, monitoring, and selecting the appropriate medication.
