The presentation will focus on the coordinated restorative and orthodontic treatment of congenitally missing or hopeless teeth using fiber reinforced composite bridges. It will contain background information, such as prevalence rates and treatment options, for hopeless or congenitally missing teeth. It will also contain a description of the methodology of providing fiber reinforced composite bridges. Examples of cases will also be reviewed. Presented by Gary Schulman, DMD.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the potential etiology, prevalence rates and treatment options for congenitally missing or hopeless teeth during orthodontic treatment, especially the use of fiber reinforced composite bridges.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the potential steps of creating and restoring with a fiberglass reinforced composite bridge.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to demonstrate the understanding of exemplary cases in which fiberglass. reinforced composite bridges were used to replace missing or hopeless teeth post-orthodontic treatment.
