Medicaid children are the highest risk and underserved patient population when it comes to dental disease. Bureaucratic hurdles, excessive paperwork and lower reimbursement rates often make it formidable for many practitioners to include them as their patients. Opening up our practices to the most needy patients may be rewarding afterall.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about the pros/cons of accepting Medicaid patients.
  • Contemplate and analyze the repurcussions of seeing Medicaid patients for their individual practices or share their experience about seeing these patients if they are providers.
  • Integrate this demographic into your practice and share the professional responsbility of caring for the children who need our expertise and care the most.
